Pastor Kylynn M. McMillian began her journey with the Lord at the age of 8, when she told the Lord she wanted to be like Him in prayer, but had no knowledge of what it meant to be ‘saved’ at the time.
She gave her life to the Lord at the age of 19, and has not looked back to go back since. In terms of accomplishments and life-changing events, Pastor McMillian was called into the ministry at 21, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University, taught in the Public School System of North Chicago, Illinois for 9 years, completed her MA. Ed in Community and Family Counseling at Northeastern Illinois University, and married the late Apostle James Brown, Jr., pastor of Soulwinners Outreach Church of Deliverance in Chicago, IL. She worked in the field of Child Welfare for 20 years, was ordained pastor of Soulwinners in 2007, and carried the ministry until after Apostle Brown’s death. Finding need for restoration and healing, Pastor McMillian submitted to the leadership of Bishop Kenneth Franklin, and with the joint agreeance of him and Bishop Willie J. Richardson, she became assistant to Bishop Richardson for the span of 2 and a half years as he recuperated from some serious health challenges. He gave her leeway to carry the church while she reminded the congregation that he was yet the pastor and his wife was to be honored as well. Moving from the Chicago area 8 years ago, and becoming the School Administrator at St. John’s Deliverance Temple under the late Apostle Cleveland Smith has been an enlightening experience on several levels, and most recently, Pastor McMillian received her PhD in Christian Education Leadership from Richard D. Henton University – Chicago, IL. God is to be glorified for it all.
Pastor McMillian is happily and peacefully married to Mr. Edward McMillian for 8 years, has 3 adult children, several bonus children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Learning to walk in the ability of God according to Eph. 3:20 is now the focus and new-found joy.
