Apostle Lee Henderson Sr, is the Founder and Senior Pastor
of the Tabernacle of Praise Ministries. A native of
Birmingham, AL, Dr. Henderson accepted his call to the
ministry in 1980. His ministry began at the East
Birmingham Church of God In Christ under the tutelage of
Bishop Peter Wren, Sr., where he served faithfully until the
Lord gave him the charge to depart. In 1995, God spoke to
Dr. Henderson through the Holy Spirit, saying, “I have
anointed and appointed you for a special assignment in my
Kingdom…” With that, God placed the purpose and vision in
Dr. Henderson to build a place to raise up a people that
transcend the many differences that often hinder the
progression of the church.
In January 2013, God made provision for the Tabernacle of
Praise to relocate to a larger facility in preparation for the
harvest that was on its way.
God has blessed the Tabernacle of Praise to become a
training ground for Pastors, Ministers, and men and women
who desire to walk in integrity, apt to teach and preach the
Gospel in the “Spirit of Excellence.”
In May 2018, the Apostolic International Alliance affirmed
him as an Apostle in the Lord’s church under the leadership
of Apostle Joseph Hamilton, Presiding Prelate. After years of
faithful service as an Apostle, Apostle Henderson was
appointed Vice Presiding Bishop of the Apostolic
International Alliance Incorporated and assigned as liaison
to international affiliates.
Dr. Henderson’s accomplishments reach beyond the walls
of the church. In 2012, he received a Bachelor of Theology
in Christian Counseling, and in 2013, he received aDoctorate of Divinity in Divinity, both from Northwestern
Theological Seminary.
He has been married to Lady Mona Henderson for forty-
four blissful years. He is the proud father of two children,
Kendra (Derrick) Delaine and Lee Jr., and the grandfather
of six (Lee III, Kenden, Solomon, Zameria, Riley, and
Apollo).
He is committed to winning souls for Christ by preaching
the unadulterated Word of God. He is a man of integrity and
strong convictions. He leads his flock by example,
emphasizing excellence and character. He is truly a man
after God’s own heart.
He stands firmly on the Word of God and lives by his mantra and church motto “To God Be The Glory”
